CCTV for Villas in Bali – Security & Remote Monitoring

Complete CCTV systems for Bali villas. Security coverage and remote monitoring for rental property management. Mobile app viewing from anywhere.

Once a Seminyak villa owner asked me what the most useful thing about their CCTV system had been in the first year. Not security — property management. Being able to verify that the cleaning was done, confirm the maintenance contractor actually came, and check on a reported maintenance issue without flying from Singapore. Remote property visibility is the primary value of CCTV for Bali villa owners who don't live in Bali full-time. Security is important too, but visibility is what they use every week.

Villa CCTV Coverage Plan

Entrance & Gate

Coverage of the main entrance and gate with enough resolution to identify faces and vehicle plates. This camera handles security monitoring, guest check-in confirmation, and staff arrival verification simultaneously.

Pool & Outdoor Areas

Pool area coverage for safety monitoring and to document any incidents. Terrace and garden coverage for rental properties where damage disputes between guest stays occur.

Main Living Areas

For rental property management: living room and kitchen overview cameras (disclosed to guests) allow remote check of property condition between bookings. Positioned to cover the room without covering bedroom or bathroom areas.

Storage & Utility Areas

Coverage of storage rooms, electrical panels, and service access points. Documents contractor access and deters opportunistic theft during maintenance visits.

How We Install a Villa System

A villa install begins with a walk-through, in person or over video call, so we can map the property and agree the coverage plan before quoting. We mark each camera position, confirm what it will see, and flag any blind spots created by walls, planting or pavilions. Only then do we propose the camera count, the recorder and the storage. For a typical two to four bedroom villa that is usually four cameras; larger compounds with guest villas or sprawling gardens need six to eight.

On installation day we run all exterior cabling in conduit, mount and weatherproof each camera, and set up the NVR with a recording schedule and retention sized to your needs — most villa owners settle on fifteen to thirty days. We then configure remote viewing through the manufacturer app, test it from a connection outside the villa's WiFi, and set it up on your phone plus a second device for your manager or housekeeper. Before we leave, every camera is aimed and focused and you have been shown how to use live view and playback. For the full technical detail see our IP CCTV installation and remote viewing setup pages.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I watch my Bali villa cameras from another country?

Yes — it is the main reason most villa owners install CCTV. We configure remote view through Dahua DMSS or Hikvision Hik-Connect and test it from outside the villa network before we leave, so you can check the property from anywhere with internet.

Is it acceptable to have cameras inside a rental villa?

Indoor cameras are acceptable in shared living areas such as the lounge or kitchen when their presence is disclosed to guests. We never place cameras in bedrooms or bathrooms and position shared-area cameras to respect privacy.

How many cameras does my villa need?

A standard two to four bedroom villa is usually covered well by four cameras — gate, entrance, pool and carport. Larger compounds with guest pavilions need six to eight. We confirm the exact plan during the walk-through.

Do you provide ongoing maintenance?

Yes. Bali's climate degrades cameras quickly, so we recommend annual maintenance — lens cleaning, realignment, NVR and hard-drive checks and remote-view verification.
